If you are looking for the best selection of restaurants and bars in Northern Morocco outside of Tangier, then Marina Smir Tetouan may be the place to visit. Only 5 minutes via the new expressway from the centre of Tetouan, Marina Smir is the jewel of the Northern crown, so much so that most of the foreign real estate companies have an office in the marina.

Restaurants in Marina Smir Tetouan are abound, however, Marina Smir Tetouan isn´t that big in itself, so there aren't a great many´. however, of what there are it is quite a large selection. There is even a Chinese restaurant there, however, it never seems to be open for business! Probably the most popular restaurant is Rio Grande restaurant in Marina Smir, Tetouan, which offers a great selection of Moroccan and Spanish cuisine and best of all has a licensed bar, which are few and far between in Tetouan.

Some of the restaurants are open all year round (Rio Grande for instance), but most of them close from October through till July. The shops there are only open in the summer months too, which is a shame as there isn't a lot going on in Marina Smir, Tetouan outside of season, unless you have a boat, or want to visit one of the restaurants. There is talk about opening a night club in the Marina in the future, but nothing concrete.
